Mechanism of Civilization

 Mechanism of Civilization

When the entire world functions within the framework of Western knowledge production, the strange thought of breaking this framework strikes home! Edward Said, Fanon, Minio, and how many other theorists are needed to detonate dynamite in the structural system of Western capitalism and bring back the hegemony of Muslims in knowledge science?

Is it very difficult to bring innovation to their editorial boards, database indexing, peer review and plagiarism mechanisms, expensive journal submission and paper publication processes, citation and reference processes? What will happen to decolonized theory if a decolonized knowledge production system cannot be run?

Why are Muslim-driven D&I systems, anti-plagiarism and peer review mechanisms, grand agencies, indexing and journal accessibility, and the prioritization of one’s own language impossible for Muslims? Because Muslims are not leaders in the world leadership structure, and Muslim countries are not united, is it very difficult to create a research ecosystem by integrating global Muslim talents and developing and upgrading the necessary software systems?

If the system is not changed, is it possible to taste the real essence of knowledge while stuck in the colonial knowledge production framework? Will we just stick to dawah, or will we also think about controlling databases, metadata engines, and data center technology? Will we become disciples of Ibn Sina and Ibn Hayyan and remain slaves of the West today?

China and Iran, without being bound by the Western framework, continue to try to take technology into their own hands, while Muslim countries are busy mimicking the West. The West is maintaining global dominance through the knowledge production sector. The Holy Quran stands on epistemic sovereignty, but as Muslims, we are far from it.
