Oppression upon Women Folks

Women play a vital role in society as mothers, wives, sisters, friends, and trustworthy companions. Men can live happily depending on the support and presence of women. However, in many male-dominated societies, women are often suppressed and dominated. What is truly desirable for women in society?

According to statistics from 2019, on average, 13 women are raped every day, totaling 4,745 women and girls per year. This is a shameful reality, reflecting our failure to ensure safety and security for women. If women are not allowed to develop their inherent and external qualities, skills, and working abilities, the development of our country and society will remain incomplete.

Fresh recreational policies are essential. First, obscene and explicit films, songs, or programs must be strictly prohibited through rigid laws. Secondly, all obnoxious foreign films should be banned from import. Channels or platforms promoting obscene content should be blocked; otherwise, young generations may be mesmerized by coarse entertainment, potentially becoming addicted to pornography. This can lead to sexual harassment and abuse, affecting not only young people but men of all ages.

In the modern technology era, recreational content is widely accessible. The government can monitor searched content on platforms like YouTube, possibly through agreements or payments to understand what people watch. If such content is found to be obscene or pornographic, strict action should be taken against its distributors.

Social and religious values are essential to prevent oppression against women and girls. Families and teachers play a crucial role in instilling these values in children. Men should adopt positive mentalities and show proper respect for women and their rights.

Women are not puppets or objects to be controlled by men. They are equal creations of Allah and deserve to live with full rights, dignity, and honor. Masculinity is not demonstrated through vengeance or brutality; such behavior reflects a beastly mentality. As the best creations of Allah, we must reject aggression and brutality towards women. Furthermore, social awareness and movements can play a significant role in stopping violence and oppression against women.
