 Strategic Thinking and Its Impact on Emotional Perception Strategic thinking can affect the process of understanding and accepting emotions. When someone shows genuine affection, appreciation, or encouragement, the emotion may not be directly felt due to strategic thinking. This type of process creates a gap, which in psychology is commonly known as the Perception-Affect Gap or Strategic Thinking Barrier to Emotional Perception. This gap is basically created when a person analyzes the possible effects of another's intentions, context, and behavior and tries to verify them before making a direct connection with the emotion.
