Data Colonialism VS Territorial Colonialism Even though the forms of exploitation have changed over time in human history, its main objective has remained the same, that is, power, control, and wealth. Once upon a time, colonies were established through the seizure of territory; today, data seizure has become possible on the basis of new colonialism. But it is noteworthy that while the entire world is under data colonialism, some states have not been able to break the old form of colonialism. Russia and Israel are the most precise examples of this territorial colonialism. Russia included Crimea in 2014 and is currently planning to add Donetsk and Luhansk to Russia’s new map in the peace treaty negotiations.
