Bilateral Coherence and Dissonance Relationship between Western and Bangladeshi Culture
Culture is the coordination of subjective and objective elements of nationalism of any country bearing individual belief, sense and practice of religionism, moralism, and mannerism, along with an appliance of intellectual, artistic, and aesthetic versatile perception of which reflection is in all around the national organ. In other words, the concept of the entity and versatile signs related to nationalism reveal signs of a culture of any country on the chest of the worldwide platform, and eventually, culture plays a vital role to represent the country. However, each country bears its own culture relying on its own entity; and so in case of both western culture and Bangladeshi culture have their own cultural possessions in spite of having national and geographical variations, consonance and dissonance are visible in the case of the two countries' culture. Be that as it may, the similarities are individualism, mannerism and appliance of belief based on the social, religious, and moral perspective in case of the western culture and the Bangladeshi culture; whereas, the dissimilarities between western and Bangladeshi culture are boundless freedom way on lifestyle, sense of hospitality and alternative practice of values and custom.
The culture of both western and Bangladeshi holds several similarities notwithstanding national and geographical border alteration. The first and foremost similarity is individualism which represents an accord of the two countries' culture. For example, architectural artistic monuments and landmarks refer to the appliance of individual intellectualism through which the concept of own culture is precise. France, the holder of western culture, builds the Eiffel Tower, one of the most landmarks that represent individual intellectualism. Similarly, the foundation of historical monuments on the basis of the eminent battle of our country’s culture bears testimony of our national individualism and appliance of our own artistic intellectualism. Secondly, mannerism is another similarity between the two cultures. In western culture, an exhibition of mannerism is visible in the western people’s practical way of life. For instance, the exchange of courtesy, the way of showing honor, and the practice of norms and regulations related to religious, social, and moral perspectives are noticeable in western culture. In the same way, mannerism is obvious in the Bangladeshi culture. Namely, the exchange of modesty, method of showing honor, and religious-based moralism are visible in our indigenous culture.
Finally, the appliance of belief in the case of the two cultures is last but not the least similar. In western culture, beliefs origin comes from the background foundation based on own religious and social values and also the implementation of subjective elements (own thoughts, ideas, attitude, and tradition). In the same way, beliefs' origin is rich in the case of our culture. Therefore, the three characteristics depict an image that helps to find out similarities in the case of both western and Bangladeshi culture.
Despite having some similarities, the dissimilar relationship between western and Bangladeshi culture brings to light. First of all, boundless freedom on the way of lifestyle creates the dissimilarity between western and Bangladeshi culture. In western culture, hardly any restriction is seen on the western lifestyle. That is, to join the party at night clubs, taking varied alcohols as drinks, and usage of women as product representatives are customary signs on the way of the western lifestyle. In contrast, the presence of lifestyle restrictions is visible on the basis of our religious and social norms and values, as well as our view of life on the way of the Bangladeshi culture. Secondly, acceptance ability in the case of hospitality is another side to draw a differentiated shape in the case of the western and the Bangladeshi culture. In the western culture, the trend of hospitality is followed titularly, but in the Bangladeshi culture, the practice of hospitality aptitude is an inherent quality for indigenous souls. Namely, due to the possession of acceptance sense and amicable attitude, expansion sense of hospitality is too severe to implement upon foreigners by the indigenous entity. Finally, malleability and flimsy sense and point of view in case of religious-based morality and value’s practice and its implementation is seen. On the other hand, practice and implementation of religion are followed strictly, no doubt. Hence, narrated the three dissimilarities stated above indicate the variation of the western and Bangladeshi culture.
From my point of view, culture accelerates the enrichment of nationalism. Above all, culture plays a vital role as a representative of the country. As a matter of fact, culture keeps up the individual entity and intellectualism. And so, it can never be desirable to intrude upon one's own culture by the aggression and influence of another culture. Imitation and intense influence upon own culture is a serious threat of losing individualism of own culture. Objective elements of foreign culture/ western culture are too deleterious in the field of Bangladeshi culture. Objective elements of the western culture and the Bangladeshi culture are controversial, that’s why imbalance and incoordination give rise to. Whatever, western culture’s aggression and power can never fall off the indigenous culture, all possible initiatives should be taken. The aggression of the western culture in our social organ can’t bring any good effect that’s why imbalance is evident and its reflection upon the society collusive and conflicted. The first and foremost duty and responsibility is to free our/Bangladeshi culture from the western culture. I think all endeavors should have continued from our own position in consideration of the affirmation of individualism and intellectualism based on our/Bangladeshi culture.
To sum up, culture varies from time to time, circumstances to circumstances. Besides, culture variations rely on nationalism, the borders of geographical areas, religious norms, and readymade customs. So, on the basis of the measurement of cultural variation and cultural similarity, a coordinated line has been depicted on the basis of the similarities and dissimilarities based bilateral relationship in the case of the western culture and the Bangladeshi culture.
