The Bright Mind Behind the Tangled: Are Some People Unique in the Light of Psychology and Science?
The human mind is a mysterious place. Some peoples minds are so different from the average persons mind that it is almost impossible to understand the human mind of these special people using the usual ways of thinking about the human mind. We can try to understand the complexity of the mind of these special types of people by looking at psychology and science and what personality theories have to say about the human mind.
Even though these people may seem normal on the outside their inner world is really deep and complex.
Some things about the mind of these people that science helps us understand are:
1. How rare are these people with this kind of mind?
According to Carl Jungs ideas about personality and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator some of these characteristics are similar to the INFJ personality type, which's a type of human mind that is Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging.
The INFJ personality type is not very common. Not many people have this type of human mind.
The reason for this is that people with the INFJ personality type have a mind that is both very empathetic and very analytical at the same time, which is a pretty unique combination of traits in the human mind.
2. The complexity of the mind in the light of science
The brains and nervous systems of people with this type of human mind often process things and emotions in a really deep way.
We can break this down into a steps:
a) Sensitive Nervous System
Elaine Arons theory of Sensory Processing Sensitivity says that some people have a trait called being a Highly Sensitive Person, which affects their human mind.
Science shows that the brains of people can really deeply understand emotions and what is going on around them.
This means that people with this trait feel things deeply like social pressure or noise and they often try to protect themselves from these things by creating a kind of shield around their human mind.
b) Dissonance and Sublimation
Sigmund Freuds ideas say that people often turn their inner struggles into art or creative work.
When there is a conflict between what society expects and what we really want it can cause tension.
Some people cannot handle this tension. Get anxious or depressed but others turn it into something creative which is called Sublimation.
c) Overexcitability and Existential Thinking
Kazimierz DÄ…browskis theory says that people who are highly sensitive and creative often have strong emotions and thoughts which can be seen in their human mind.
These people often think about questions and philosophy and their thoughts are not just about everyday things, which can be part of their deep introspection about the human mind.
d) The Paradox of Empathy
Some people can feel what others are feeling deeply which is called High Affective Empathy and this is a part of their human mind.
Their own human mind can be so complex that they often feel like there are not many people who can really understand them, which can make them feel lonely even if they are around other people.
Science says that some people are just naturally more sensitive, introspective and creative and this is a part of their mind.
This can be a thing because it can help them be creative but it can also be bad because it can cause them a lot of emotional stress, which affects their human mind.
However it is better to see this as a natural part of the human mind rather than thinking that these people are on a "higher level" than others because that is not what the human mind is, about.
