In todays digital world we see a lot of content every day.When we scroll through Facebook, YouTube or TikTok it is easy to notice that entertainment content is more popular than educational content.The question is.Why is this the case?


Why Does Brain Like Pleasure?


Our brain is drawn to things that make us happy away.There is a chemical called Dopamine that makes us feel happy.Funny videos or emotional content make this dopamine come out fast.So people want to watch this kind of content over.On the hand educational content can make us happy too but it takes time.We have to understand and learn something.That is why a lot of people do not find it as interesting as entertainment content that gives us happiness.


The Way We Think 


Entertainment content is usually easy to watch and does not require attention.At the end of a day people are tired and they want to watch something that does not make them think too much.Educational content on the hand needs attention and patience.A lot of people choose the way out and watch entertainment content instead.

People are often influenced by how they feel than what they think.Content that makes us laugh or cry is remembered more.Entertainment content affects our emotions directly.That is why people not watch it but also share it with others, which makes it even more popular.

Media platforms are designed to keep us online for as long as possible.The time we spend on a platform the more content we see.So content that gets a lot of likes and shares is seen by people.Entertainment content can get a lot of likes and shares fast.The algorithm then spreads this content further creating a cycle where popular content becomes even more popular.

When we see content that has a lot of likes or shares we think it must be good.This is because we trust what other people think.

People want to take a break from their worries and stress.Entertainment content gives us that break.We can forget about our problems for a while.Educational content on the hand can feel like work or responsibility.Not everyone wants to deal with that when they're tired.
