"Indigenous Education System and Dependence on Notebooks and Coaching"

"Indigenous Education System and Dependence on Notebooks and Coaching"

If notebooks, guides, and coaching are all stopped, how reasonable is it in the indigenous education system? If the government wants to make teachers class-oriented, then it is a wrong initiative. If it wants to stop the booming business of notebooks and coaching, then it is also a wrong initiative. It would have been better to research the background well and then take this initiative.I myself was a student of government schools and colleges in Bangladesh.

If there are four sections for those admitted to the class six in government schools, including morning and day shifts, then if there are 70 students in each section, the total number of students is 280.The learning style and cognitive ability of 70 students in each section are not the same. And it is never possible for one teacher to teach a subject completely to 70 students. It is seen that the first 20 of the 70 can understand the reading easily, while the remaining 50 cannot understand it.This was the reality of our time.

During the Awami League government, there was a creative method when we relied on guides and private study. It is not that science subjects were not taught in schools and colleges; teachers used to take classes regularly, but science subjects were never fully covered in schools or colleges, nor was it possible. Our teachers were dependent on guides as well as extra practice as they were stimulating.I have also found many answers in exams that were taken directly from the guide. Those who practiced the guide well would have memorized and written the questions and got good marks.

The number of teachers in government schools and colleges should be increased. The number of students should be reduced. The cognitive ability of students should be understood, as not all students have the same capacity. Notebooks and coaching for those students then become a place of trust.Teachers' teaching should be designed accordingly, according to the classroom size and number of students.Teachers should also be trained; they have to handle such a large sample size, research their cognitive ability, and apply teaching strategies accordingly; otherwise, the dependence on guides and coaching will increase.Government school and college teachers should be their partners without putting undue pressure on them.

Instead of completely stopping the notebook and coaching business in the Bangladeshi education system, we should focus on what initiatives will reduce it.From 2006 to 2026, the indigenous education system's dependence on coaching and guides existed. If it is completely stopped, ordinary students whose cognitive abilities are not like good students will be affected.Education is not education, but a tool of trade.Whether the education business is stopped by stopping coaching and guides, teachers have become classroom-oriented, but has the government paid attention to the business that is based on online courses or in the name of skills? Isn't it a business for those who are skilled in a specific subject, such as research or computer skills, and do online courses and certificates? And those who provide coaching become a business!

If teacher training, class size reduction, and support based on student ability are provided instead of completely stopping notebooks and coaching, the dependence will gradually decrease.

During the Awami League government, there were computer labs in government schools and colleges to increase their IT capabilities. There were computers, but they were not as many as the students in government schools. How can the education system move forward with such limitations? The creative method was nominal, but it was based on guides, private study, and coaching. So how can that method be creative in student life? This question has come to mind many times.

As an ordinary student, the indigenous education system always makes me think: actually, policies are formulated, but are they implemented in that way?
