Power, Control, and User Response on Social Media: My Experience"
"Power, Control, and User Response on Social Media: My Experience"
Nowadays social media is not a place where we talk to our friends. Social media is also like a place where we can learn about human behavior and how people use power and control. When I share my knowledge on Facebook in groups I see how differently people react to what I say. Even a simple thing that I post on media can sometimes say a lot about what is going on in society. Social media is really good, at showing us how people think and feel about things.
Likes, Accepts, and Blocks: The Big Significance of Small Actions
When you like something accept it or block it that is not a click. It shows what people are thinking how they understand the rules and what they think about it. Some people will quickly accept a post and other people will ignore it or block it. People on the internet sometimes do what the group is doing and what the rules of the group are, more, than what they want to do. They do this because of the rules and the power of the group not because of what they like.
Observations: Big Information from Small Events
I used to pay attention to how people reacted to posts on media. This was helpful to see which posts people liked away and which ones they did not like. I also wanted to know who liked to block people or restrict them often.I was curious to see how the people in charge affected the way others reacted to posts. I was not just doing this for fun.Looking at these things actually teaches us about power and control, on media. It teaches us about the power and control of media.
Key Insight : Insights from Every Click
Even the little things people do carry a message. How someone acts isn't just about what they like–it's also about what others think is acceptable and who holds the power in the group. If you really pay attention you will see that every single click on something can teach us a lot about people and the social message. Every little reaction can show us something about the people, in the group and the social message that they are sending.
Shortly, social media is not just a place to share posts, but a miniature world for understanding human behavior, power, and relationships where every little interaction provides significant information.

Methodology of the Content :I used non-participant observation on Facebook groups, posting content and meticulously observing how members reacted through likes and accepts, which allowed me to study social behavior, group norms, and power dynamics without any intervention.
Theory Application :
Faucault argued that power is everywhere; not because it embraces everything, but because it comes from everywhere.Understanding power dynamics on Facebook groups, the article provides the insight.
"Symbolic power is a power of constructing reality. It is a power of constituting the given through utterances, of making people see and believe, of confirming or transforming the vision of the world." (Bourdieu)
The symbolic power is exercised by Facebook group admins, in accepting or rejecting posts; by members of those groups in reacting to posts, revealing their interests in which posts they are wishing to interact with.
