Big Bang and God: A Human Perspective
Big Bang and God: A Human Perspective
The Big Bang theory explains how the universe began. It tells us that the universe started from a single, extremely dense and hot point, rather than forming gradually over time. Observations of distant galaxies show that stars, planets, and galaxies are moving away from each other, proving that the universe is expanding.
Stephen Hawking is one of the most famous scientists who studied this theory. Many people call him an atheist because he did not believe in eternal life. Yet, he also spoke of an impersonal force or intelligence behind the universe, which sometimes confuses people about his beliefs.
In Islam, God is all-powerful and supreme. Humans are given intelligence to explore and understand the mysteries of creation. Our ability to study, discover, and appreciate the universe is a gift from God. Hawking used his reasoning to understand the cosmos, but the very capacity to do so is part of God’s design.
Therefore, labeling Hawking purely as an atheist does not capture the whole truth.
While he did not believe in life after death, his acknowledgment of a higher intelligence resonates with the Islamic idea of Allah. The Big Bang shows how the universe began, and through human curiosity and study, we can uncover its wonders -thanks to God’s guidance and wisdom.
